Destination: The Dales Haven
The Dales Haven is a former vicarage. It was originally built in the1800s as a gentlemans town house and was known as Exeter House, after Lord and Lady Exeter who had a family connection with Lord Bolton of nearby Bolton Hall. It became a vicarage after the Second World War before Bing sold to a local family, the Hudspeths in the 1970s. They converted it into a guest house and it has been so ever since apart from a brief time in the 1980s when it was used as offices by a firm of accountants. A later owner renamed the house, The Haven. It subsequently became Dales Haven Located in the market town of Leyburn, The Roses boasts free Wi-Fi throughout and free private parking. This 19th century townhouse and former vicarage . The individually styled rooms feature a flat-screen Freeview TV with a DVD player and a memory foam mattress, along with tea and coffee making facilities, wine glasses with a corkscrew, and a minibar with mineral water. The en suite shower rooms have a hairdryer.
In the mornings, The Roses serves full English breakfast in the dining room, which has stunning views over Wensleydale. Dishes are freshly prepared using locally sourced produce where possible.
The Roses is situated in Leyburns market square, amongst the towns pubs, bars, and independent shops. Wensleydale is ideal for walking and cycling activities, offering scenic tracks and trails. There are 10 golf courses within a 45-minute drive of the house. Wensleydale Golf Club is just 5 miles away.
