After visiting Alentejo several times as tourists, and falling in love with it, we decided to fulfil our dream of opening a guest house in 2009. We moved from Switzerland and created...a place to be... He who looks for pure nature, endless vastness and at night a star lit sky will find here a place to be. An oases set in the scenery of the African savannah with its unforgettable sunsets, awaits you. Built in typical Alentejo style, this tasteful guest house is tucked away in the countryside and on the boundaries of the Vale do Guadiana Natural Park. Each room comes with access to the patio.

The rooms at Cantar Do Grilo combine a classic country atmosphere with modern furniture and come with countryside views.

Regional products and specialities of the house are served for breakfast. An outdoor grill, a fridge and a microwave are available for guests to prepare a snack.

After a dip in the outdoor salt-water pool, guest can soak up the sun on the deck with its olive trees. The spacious lounge with its library and varied CD collection provides relaxation indoors.

Guests can relax with a match of Boccia. The picturesque villages of Serpa and So Domingos are a 15-minute drive away. Mrtola is a 35-minute drive from Cantar do Grilo - Turismo Rural.
