Transfer from RAF Sculthorpe to The Chequers Inn

Agellus, one of East Anglias leading hospitality businesses, has announced the opening of Thornham Rooms at The Chequers, a unique, room-only place to stay on the spectacular North Norfolk coast.

The Rooms are the latest evolution in the rich history of The Chequers Inn which has welcomed visitors to Thornham since the 16th century, most recently as a hotel and restaurant.

Now, the eleven elegant, characterful bedrooms and comfortable downstairs sitting rooms become the base for unforgettable stays in stunning North Norfolk. Thornham Rooms can be a romantic hideaway, or a place for walkers and wildlife-spotters, a cosy retreat or the base for exciting exploration.

The room-only approach means guests can discover their own favourite spots for breakfast, lunch and dinner, brunch, afternoon tea, or drinks. We are looking forward to telling guests about our favourite places - not least our Thornham pub, The Lifeboat Inn - encouraging them to support local food and drink businesses of all types.

The bedrooms are contemporary and stylish with luxurious attention to detail; several are dog friendly.

Guests can relax downstairs in a comfortable lounge and snug areas where fires will be lit in winter. Thornham Rooms at The Chequers is an accommodation only property.

Food & drink is served at our sister property The Lifeboat Inn, food from 12.00-9.00pm and the bar is open from 11.00am daily.

Complimentary bar snacks & fruit juices are available from Thornham Rooms.

Breakfast is available at an additional cost at our sister property The Lifeboat Inn in the village.

Please note that check in & key collection is at our sister property in Thornham, The Lifeboat Inn from 3.00pm.

Dogs are welcome based on availability of dog friendly rooms. There is an additional charge of 15 per dog, per night, payable directly at property.
