Great location but will never stay there again

Premises were good in great location but We purchased this in advance and paid in full as wedding gift for our niece On arrival they refused to let them check in as it was booked with our credit card My husband phoned from China where he was on business but they would only let them check in by paying again with their own card So they had to pay and we had to reimburse them urgently as they had no money after wedding in Italy Never had this problem before and even with a crying bride in reception they were prepared to toss them out with nowhere to go Definitely not recommend them to anyone it was bad and unfair treatment of guests who were on their honeymoon

Clean and nicely decorated Good shower room Midday check out was useful

Room was tiny like being in a caravan Pillows were horrendously uncomfortable

Loved the location opposite the park and close to the tube We also thought the staff were very friendly and supportive

Staff did not acknowledge you when coming and going Rooms very small Cannot move around furniture Bathroom was the size of a closet

I had a five nights stay in August A location is perfect 5 minutes walk to London Paddington or Lancaster stations Check in out was fast

I realize that the staff never smiles which was kept allover my stay The hotel did not care about my recommendation in online booking when I asked for a hard pillow The room was very small but well arranged it got unpleasant decoration including the carpets and the wall color The ac was not working but thanks God London was work at this time The window was leaking air with another unpleasant view The corridor was ancient and smelly Amenities were basic but enough The bathroom was small but well arranged The towels were smelly Sleeping was ok The staffs were helpful when asking but never smile when facing customers also did not look overloaded The hotel did not contain any facilities and I wonder how it got 4 stars Check out was express and it was the best thing happened during my stay In summary I won t be staying again

The location of the hotel as we were visiting Hyde Park The history ambience of the original Edwardian house hotel although not all confirmed Would love to be a fly on wall back in the day Some very beautiful ornate decor on the ground and upper ground floor We wondered about the history as part of write up states you can very much feel the presence of Lillie Langtry especially in the Theatre Bar where she allegedly put on shows A very interesting property

Our room was incredibly small The hotel rooms look lovely in the photographs but in reality seem a little tired and run down We paid a very reasonable rate for the room through Booking Com which was reserved several months in advance but we noticed that the general prices closer to the date were hugely inflated at prices that could not be justified for what you actually get Also the communal toilets in basement Not great when group of rowdy young men burst in when wife alone

Great location Excellent staff Lots of little nice touches eg fruit in room upon arrival chocolates on bed each evening Excellent breakfast

Rooms were comfortable but compact

Near underground station and in front of Hyde Park

There are three lefts and only one of them is working The other two are either out of service or breaks down while in operation
