Duke Of York

An historic inn that helped inspire the book War Horse, the rooms at the Duke of York are attached to one of the most famous pubs in Devon. Parking is available nearby, and free WiFi is accessible throughout.

Duke of York is a 15th century inn overlooking Dartmoor. Rooms feature classic features such as exposed wooden beams, alongside modern conveniences including flat-screen TVs, heating and tea/coffee making facilities. The private bathroom features both a bath and shower.

A full English breakfast is included in the room rate. The attached pub/restaurant offers home cooked meals using local produce where possible, including Mid Devon Ruby Red beef and organic vegetables. The Tarka Trail runs from the North Devon coast to the South Devon coast, and passes close to the Duke of York. Stafford Moor offers fishing and is 2 miles from the property, whilst walking opportunities at Dartmoor and Halsdon Nature Reserve are within easy reach.
