Glenthorne Guest House

In the heart of the Lake District, Glenthorne Guest House offers bed and breakfast 5 minutes walk from Grasmere village. With free parking and Wi-Fi, this peaceful Victorian retreat also functions as a Quaker Centre.

Each guest room has tea and coffee facilities and an en suite bathroom. Many rooms have views of the gardens and surrounding countryside.

Glenthorne Guest House offers breakfast and 3-course evening meals in the dining room, where guests are encouraged to dine together. Tea and freshly made cakes are provided, and can be enjoyed in the lounge or garden.

The guest house welcomes guests of all beliefs. A daily Quaker worship meeting for worship is open to all who wish to attend.

The guest house is around 5 miles north of Ambleside, with Lake Windermere within a 15-minute drive. Coniston Water and the Grizedale Forest Park are within 20-30 minutes of Glenthorne Guest House. Please inform Glenthorne Guest House in advance of your expected arrival time. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly with the contact details provided in your confirmation. Please note that dinner must be reserved at least 48 hours in advance.
