Vrdshuset Flottaren

Since the 1800s the rivers Vann and Vsterdallven had been used by the timber industry to transport timber from up north to the lumber mills in the south to be processed and transported further on. The men who bravely stood on the timber and guided it in the river were called "Flottare". So the hotel that was built right next to the river was to be called "Flottaren", the man who guides timber, which is also our logo, a timber man on his job guiding timber. When the skiing business started in Slen, a lot of car traffic has also been going through Vansbro to get to the slopes in the north. The hotel is located right next to Vsterdallven with a nice pathway that is also connected to Vann, which makes for a nice walk along both the rivers. Because of the location, Flottaren has become the place to connect rivers, roads and people. Surrounded by trees on the shores of Dalarnas Vsterdal River, this central Vansbro guest house offers free Wi-Fi internet and free private parking.
