Charlie & Mairead McClafferty took over the original Beach Hotel, Downings on Friday 13th May 1988! The Hotel closed in August 2005 for renovations and re-opened in June 2008 with a fresh, modern and eco-friendly building! Situated on the famous Altantic Drive along the Wild Atlantic and overlooking Sheephaven Bay, Beach Hotel boasts bright, spacious rooms with flat-screen TVs. Set within the seaside village of Downings, it offers traditional Irish music and entertainment in the bar. Furnished in calm and neutral colours, each room at Beach Hotel Downings provides free WiFi and satellite TV.

All rooms have a private bathroom with a shower or bath and many offering a spectacular sea view. A hand basin, hairdryer and tea/coffee facilities are included in the room. A full Irish breakfast is served each day, as well as a wide selection of cooked, continental, and buffet options.

The modern restaurant serves Irish and international cuisine, with a selection of fine wines. The hotel features 2 bars, with a modern lounge bar and a traditional bar offering live entertainment.

Free parking is provided, and the sandy beach can be reached in 5 minutes on foot. Scenic drives can be enjoyed along the nearby coast road of Atlantic Drive.
