National Hotel

Location of hotel and view from room was excellent

Decor was a little tired and there was noise from the DLR

Quiet and comfortable

Dated and tatty decor

We were upgraded

Our towels were dirty

I liked the pizza restaurant but if you order room service it s not too hot

The beds were like planks and the pillows are as thin as a pancake

Was fine Just a bit dated

It s a great location for Canary wharf and some rooms have excellent river views and often a fantastic price Showers are powerful and hot

Check in is always incredibly slow and the staff can be frustrating This hotel is quite faded and a little out of context in this shiny new area I always ask for a smaller double bed as in the larger rooms it is twin beds joined together which I find really uncomfortable My last visit meant changing rooms three times It was annoying to be moved to a room with exactly the same issue and to take over 30 minutes to get into a room I ve also lost clothing there and despite e mails and me going there it was never recovered which is very poor The air conditioning doesn t work well in some rooms and the DLR sounds can be very noisy at night

Good value for money and good location

hotel is very tired and hence is undergoing refurbishment however my room was hot and airconditioning didnt work i guess it was also being upgraded and windows dont open so quite an uncomfortable night on a hard bed so didnt get much sleep

Breakfast was very good plenty of choice

Checking in was a lot of effort uncomfortable bed very dated room needed freshening up

The previous nights here were ok But when I arrived at my room on the last night saw my night dress and the line for iPhone was on the bottom of the bedside table They should be on my bed and on the top of the bedside table I did not put any stuff at that place before someone threw 2 things there What s the manner and attitude of cleaning room like this This place is usually for SHOES I can t wear my night dress that night and I had flight on the next morning I reported this to the receptionist that night he asked me to send email to the manager and typed the email address for me said the manager will handle this the next morning when he s back to work I asked for an explanation and a proper solution to solve this issue The next morning the receptionist then had no idea of this case so obviously they did not handed over cases Till now there s no reply no explanation and any solution from them which is so disappointed This behaviour is very bad All my experience for the previous 2 nights are good but this experience did shock me and disgust me
