The resort is built around a resort-style pool with a waterfall. The local public bus leaves from outside the Cairns Gateway Resort and can take you to the shopping heart of Cairns and the beautiful lagoon.

All rooms have satellite TV and a work desk. Each room features extra pillows, blankets and coat hangers. Housekeeping is provided on a weekly basis and for shorter stays, this service is available for an extra fee.

Cairns Gateway is a 20-minute drive from Cairns Airport. Other nearby attractions includes the Great Barrier Reef, Daintree Rainforest, Kuranda Village, Palmcove, Port Douglas, Bayview Heights Golf Club and Trinity Inlet.
