Biocentro Gembe

This eco resort is located by a lake, just 10 minutes from the city centre and en route to the quaint town of Porongo in the Los Batos area.

Built in 2008, this eco resort is set in a 24-hectare natural paradise and is surrounded by exotic plants, lush forests and native animals. It features 12 accommodation units in total and its facilities include a lobby, kids' club, restaurant and car park. Wireless Internet access is provided throughout public areas and room service is also offered. Those looking to explore the surrounding area on 2 wheels can hire bicycles on site.

The resort features deluxe cabins with a rustic touch, with beautiful views over the tropical gardens and lagoons. For more adventurous types, there is also a campsite. The cabins come equipped with king-size beds, en suite bathrooms with a shower and bath, and individually regulated air conditioning. Each cabin also has its own private terrace with hammocks.

The resort features 10 outdoor swimming pools, 6 of which have a children's swimming area. There is a poolside snack bar at 1 of the pools, which serves drinks and light meals by the water's edge. Active types might want to try their hand at canoeing nearby, and various alternative therapies and treatments are offered at the resort.idday and evening meals can be selected from a set menu. A buffet option is also available at lunch.
