The town Birsfelden is very close to Basel. Basel Town is just 200 metres from the hotel. A tram stop is located right next to Hotel Alfa. Within 15 minutes you can get to the Messe Basel fairground. Guests are required to show a photo identification and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply. Please inform Hotel Alfa in advance of your expected arrival time. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly with the contact details provided in your confirmation. Parking is subject to availability due to limited spaces. The booking confirmation shall be deemed as a second-class ticket (Mobility-Ticket) for all public transportation in Northwestern Switzerland (transport association TNW) for the journey to the hotel on the day of arrival.

Free shuttle to from airport Value for money for a night s stay
Location was very industrial like
Room was great Bed was huge and comfy
Restaurant staff were ignorant and food was poor Only one sachet of milk and coffee each for the room
the hotel was fine we were surprised by the location being so far from the city but there was bus service very close so we were able to go into the city
we didn t like the food very much but we are used to eating differently
How nice and pleasant the staff was and how helpful they were to our every need
The express breakfast was not at all what we expected to be offered with the room We did expect more choice than a croissant roll and coffee juice
What we did not like about our stay was the strobe like effect of a faulty light in the bathroom When we turned the light OFF it strobed every few seconds like a flashlight on automatic so we decided to sleep with the bathroom light ON instead not ideal because we like to sleep in the dark We told reception staff next morning to save future guests suffering the same problem The staff were unconcerned No apology no offer of part refund or anything They did not even ask WHICH of the four bathroom lights was the problem or ask for more details of its manifestation They just said they would report it to Maintenance
One of the best restaurants in the airport hotel category near the airport Choice in the evening is good and the wine prices reasonable
For going to the airport using your own car is problematic because of road restrains and poor traffic signs
The bathroom was fantastic and the bedroom very comfortable
Paying more for parking through the hotel than the ticket machine quotes It was a small sum but it is silly to charge more
Shuttle bus is very convenient and the service is very good No metro but the public bus is easy to take
No resterant or supermarket nearby If anything I want to buy I need to take the bus to downtown
